As a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney, You Will Be An Integral Part Of Our Dedicated Legal Team, Representing Businesses And Governmental Entities In Federal And State Courts In Litigation. Your Primary Responsibility Will Be To Provide Expert Legal Counsel, Conduct Litigation, And Advocate On Behalf Of Our Clients. As An Integral Part Of Our Team, You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Represent governmental entities in federal and state courts in Civil Rights Litigation matters.
- Represent insurance carriers/insurers, and their insureds, in state and federal courts in insurance defense litigation.
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy development.
- Draft and file legal documents, argue substantive motions, and take and defend depositions.
- Prepare and assist in trial proceedings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Engage in settlement negotiations when appropriate.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on applicable legal issues.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois (Licensure in both Iowa and Illinois is preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience handling civil litigation in federal and/or state courts.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel within the State of Illinois (and/or Iowa) as required.
