We are looking for a self-motivated legal assistant to join our Social Security Disability team that will provide services under the supervision of an attorney. The candidate must be organized and detail oriented, have a professional demeanor, be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities And Skills Include
Must have very good computer use proficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook and Word, web-based applications and downloads, and Adobe pdf required
Should also include printing, faxing, scanning, copying and pasting, writing emails, preparing legal documents, and other similar activities
Devote attention to identify errors and make necessary corrections.
Proficient in handling of case files, monitor deadlines, and other important documents in an orderly and timely manner, must be able to complete tasks assigned in a timely manner
Present themselves and behave in a professional manner with a positive friendly attitude extending curtesy and kindness to those with whom you interact, in person, on the phone and through email.
Prefer knowledge of Social Security procedures for filing disability claims.
Qualifications
Associate Degree Required
Prior legal office experience 3 to 5 years
