Experienced Legal Assistant for our team with a high-volume case load. Need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work well independently and in a team setting. Must be proficient in records and case management, preparing and responding to discovery, and billing time pursuant to guidelines. This is a well-established litigation law firm offering a competitive salary, health insurance, and 401k benefits.
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in civil litigation and basic knowledge of litigation, the discovery process and rules of civil procedure.
Must be able to prepare and draft discovery requests and responses; manage document productions; prepare and draft pleadings; adhere to court rules, statutes and ordinances; assist in preparation for depositions, mediation, settlement conferences, hearings, and trial.
Must be able to manage multiple attorneys calendars; monitor and meet deadlines, including responding to discovery which is critical for this position,
Must have exceptional organization, communication, and high attention to detail.
Must have knowledge of state and federal court e-filing systems (U.S. District Courts, Pacer, Florida e-Filing, etc.).
Must be able to track and enter billable hours into an electronic billing system.
Candidate must have strong computer skills, be able to follow instructions, prioritize workload, understand legal concepts and terminology, and work independently.
Position may involve other administrative tasks when needed such as answering incoming calls, copying, scanning, etc.
