Responsibilities Include

• Conducting research on laws, regulations, and case precedents to assist the attorneys with legal documents.
• Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and briefs for court filings.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and deadlines are met.
• Interacting with clients to gather information, provide updates, and facilitate communication between clients and attorneys.
• Provide discovery assistance by preparing requests for documents, and reviewing documents in electronically stored information databases.
• Filing documents with courts, including electronic filing systems, and tracking court deadlines.
• Performing general administrative duties like scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
• Assisting attorneys in preparation for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations and/or mediations.
• Organize, manage and maintain case files.
  
  

Qualifications

Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

• College degree
• Attention to detail and organized
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Professional attitude and demeanor
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experience timekeeping for billing purposes.
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Paralegal certification/training
• Experience with Federal and/or DC, MD and VA procedures and e-filing systems
  
  

Experience: 5-7 years of relevant job experience as a paralegal in a law firm.
