Key Responsibilities
- Prepare affidavits, legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files.
- Coordinate hearings, manage deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
- Maintain and update pleading and discovery indexes.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, and trial materials.
- File pleadings with court clerks in both state and federal courts.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including exhibit organization and logistics.
- Attend trials, providing support to attorneys and coordinating with third parties.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Paralegal certificate alone will not be considered).
- 2–5 years of paralegal experience with a strong focus on litigation.
- Familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and state and federal e-filing systems is essential.
- Willingness and flexibility to work frequent overtime.
- Billable Hours Requirement: 7 hours/day (1,757 hours/year). Monthly billable hours are tracked for workload management.
- Support Structure: You’ll work with a collaborative team—2 other paralegals and 4 legal secretaries in the Miami office.
- Attorney Support: Paralegals are assigned based on team bandwidth, not specific attorneys.
- Practice Area: General litigation. Specific subject matter expertise is not required, but familiarity with Florida litigation processes is essential.
