Responsibilities
Administer ongoing trust account relationships
- Regular communication with beneficiaries and/or Co-Trustee(s) to ensure needs are being met while maintaining adherence to terms of trust document
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal requirements
- Coordinate with accountant to file annual trust tax returns
- Review all legal documents and coordinate with outside counsel to make any necessary filings with probate court
- Communicate with beneficiaries and provide required notices
- Inventory and take possession of all assets including collecting trust/estate assets held at other financial institutions
- Arrange and coordinate any required asset appraisals
- Coordinate with accountant with respect to any tax issues and to file decedent and estate tax returns
- Coordinate payment of debts and final expenses; make distributions to beneficiaries including setting up new trust accounts when indicated
Assist in development of new business and additional business from existing clients
Qualifications
- Undergraduate and JD degrees
- Admission to Kansas bar
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Estate planning experience
