Role Summary
This position reports to the AVP of Corporate Development and Analytics and is responsible for statutory balance sheet forecasting and analysis. These forecasts will serve as the basis for all corporate development analytics including RBC & rating agency capital projections, capital generation and deployment recommendations, and balance sheet optimization. This individual is expected to have detailed knowledge of the company's financial and actuarial models, solvency and rating agency capital frameworks, asset/liability management, the US statutory accounting framework, enterprise risk management, and model governance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance our statutory balance sheet forecasting
- Partner with Actuarial, FP&A, Tax, and Investments to ensure projections are appropriately calibrated to functional areas
- Produce regular reporting analytics to support capital generation and deployment
- Support and participate in Enterprise Risk Management capital analysis
- Participate in model governance activities, including model validation, model change management, and documentation
- Partner with internal constituents to ensure capital projection needs are being adequately met
- 5 years of Life and Annuity experience, preferably in accounting, financial reporting, tax, investments, or actuarial
- Ability to build and deliver executive level recommendations based on fact-based analysis
- Must be able to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
- Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received
- Knowledge of life insurance, annuity, and investment products and terminology
- Must have a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently as well as being a team player
- Strong coordination, communication, and influencing skills
- FSA or career ASA or CFA or CPA
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
- Experience with financial modeling and/or actuarial software, MG-ALFA/Integrate preferred
- Experience with Big Data software, Alteryx & Tableau preferred
- Ability to work effectively with team members in different geographic locations
