Licensing Specialist I

This position is responsible for interpreting and administering licensing/appointment state rules, processing renewal appointment applications, analyzing appointment records as it relates to corporate appointment renewal, and creating agency renewal reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts analysis against multiple appointment data sources to determine if a producer/agency meets the qualifications to remain appointed with the company and confirms that corporate records are updated/in agreement with, and in compliance with all applicable State Department of Insurance records.
- Acts as a liaison between the company and the customer to resolve any issues related to producer appointment/licensing records.
- Participates and contributes to corporate and departmental initiatives and encourages process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Generates producer related reports, queries, and extracts and assists with producer related inquires.
- Composes and prepares correspondence to agencies/producers/partners as it relates to appointment processing.
- Responsible to analyze, maintain, and keep up to date, licensing/appointment data for all states utilizing multiple producer data sources to keep records updated.
- Creates check requests and ensures proper payment to affiliate partners for monthly reports and appointment/termination fees, appointment renewal fees and quarterly invoices.
- Participates and works with the State Department of Insurance on audits of agent information and compliance with State regulatory requirements.
- Researches, documents and communicates resolutions to external and internal business partners for all inquiries regarding the agent appointment and maintenance processes.
- Meets or exceeds all stated performance production quality and throughput metrics.
- Actively participates in establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures related to Agent Desk activities.
- Distributes listing of producer renewal data to agencies for review before processing terminations. Processes terminations with the state Department of Insurance.
- Updates appointment records in the corporate administration and producer/agency tracking system to reflect terminations. Composes and prepares correspondence to agencies/producers/partners as it relates to appointment termination processing. Verifies and validates annual state Department of Insurance appointment renewal list and fees by company. Prepares payment to state Department of Insurance and processes appointment fee repayment (where applicable).
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business or related field.
- 1-2 years of industry related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, AND OUTLOOK)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet established deadlines
- Self-starter who can work independently as well as being a team player
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Project a positive and professional image
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to pass a back ground check
The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
