Role Summary
As the Tech Lead, Apps Integration Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and implementation of high-quality application integration solutions that support and enhance the business goals of our organization. In this hands-on role, you will lead technical teams while collaborating with additional cross-functional partners to shape technical solutions that fuel the continued success of our business.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong blend of technical expertise and leadership ability. You will have a proven track record of guiding teams through complex projects while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement, business goals, and technical excellence. Your ability to communicate across different levels and technical backgrounds will be key to your success in this role.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead technical teams in the design and implementation of robust, scalable integration solutions and APIs for both web and mobile platforms.
- Define clear short-term goals to ensure progress, drive tech team performance, and align development efforts with business objectives.
- Translate business requirements and roadmaps into integrated, technical solutions that align with the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Regularly communicate with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure technical and business alignment. Provide clear, accurate, and timely updates on the progress of development efforts, upcoming milestones, risks, and technical challenges.
- Mentor and guide development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation to enhance the performance and capabilities of our web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with IT peers (Architecture, InfoSec, Infrastructure) to develop, maintain, and enforce technical standards and best practices in application design, deployment, and security, ensuring business continuity and risk mitigation.
- Proactively identify technical and operational risks, including scalability, security, or integration challenges. Create mitigation plans and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, such as new frameworks, cloud services, or DevOps practices. Evaluate new technologies and tools that could be beneficial to the team or organization, and make recommendations for adoption of new technologies when appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 11 years application development experience, including 7 years of full-stack development experience with web and API-based applications.
- At least 5 years of experience managing or leading technical resources in a development environment.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience delivering large-scale applications in the Life & Annuities (L&A) space.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies and principles.
- Proficiency with cloud-based application delivery in environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Expertise in technologies such as .NET and/or Spring Boot frameworks, C# and/or Java, Angular, SQL Server, RabbitMQ or Kafka, and Swagger Docs.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and collaborating effectively in a remote and hybrid work environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
- This position currently offers an onsite hybrid work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office three days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering.
- Strong experience in Java Spring Boot framework in a highly integrated cloud environment.
- In-depth knowledge of DevOps tools and practices.
- Proven ability to define and maintain technical best practices for cloud-based architectures and solutions.
