POSITION SUMMARY
Assists in manufacture of aluminum ingots by performing the following duties, assisting operators, cut aluminum logs for internal or external use and drives forklift.

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist and follow instruction of Operators
- Performs any task assigned by Supervisor
- Follows safe work practices
- Operate Billet Saw
- Reads work orders to determine alloy, diameter, length, and quantity of billets to cut per order
- Loads billets onto ramp feeding oven
- Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template
- Positions work piece against stops
- Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
- Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
- Stamps cast number and alloy on each billet
- Fills out billet saw report
- Operates Forklifts
- Inspect lift per inspection form
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
- Cut all steel bands off scrap
- Charge melter
- Skim and clean (melter and holder)
- After skimming melter, run gross through gross machine
- Check and empty all pots
- Haul out logs
