What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at National Material L.P.?
We are seeking a talented & dynamic individual to fill the position of Senior Accountant in our Elk Grove, Illinois. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting our accounting and reporting function in performing the monthly, quarterly and yearly activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-end closing process, including journal entries and account analyses/reconciliations
- Monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, including consolidated financial statements and various schedules/statistics
- Perform various revenue, Cost of goods sold and inventory analysis
- Account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts for multiple ledgers
- Identify and support our continuous improvement initiatives
- Other ad-hoc requests
Required Skills:
- Up to date on latest technical accounting pronouncements
- Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivots, vlookups, hlookups, arrays, IFS, references, etc.)
- Deadline-Oriented
- Team-Oriented
- Organized, efficient and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business: Accounting concentration courses required if not an Accounting degree
- CPA or close to becoming one highly preferred
- 5 years experience including closing the books. Steel industry or general manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Microsoft Dynamics (GP and/or AX) ERP experience preferred
