Join our innovative team in the Department of Radiation Oncology as a Laboratory Research Assistant. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to support cutting-edge research initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting advanced studies in DNA processing, performing precise PCR testing, and maintaining tissue cell cultures. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory through essential tasks such as DNA isolation and general lab maintenance. Salary : $17.30 - $45.00 per hour
Qualifications
Required
- Skill in sterile technique and of tissue culture cell lines.
- Basic molecular biological skills, e.g., Southern, Northern and PCR.
- Experience working with DNA, RNA, and proteins.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cells in tissue culture.
- Skill in using micropipettors, microscopes, centrifuges, scintillation counter, histology equipment, CO2 incubators, waterbaths, spectrophotometer, gel dryer, pH meter autoclaves, FACS.
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous, organic and radioactive waste.
