The Marketing & Communications Intern will work as part of a team to support the National MS Society marketing team. There will be a focus on Content Strategy with opportunities to support Brand & Communications, Constituent Experience and Digital Experience & Analytics. This is a fully remote paid internship available for Summer 2025 (May/June start, August/September end - not to exceed 200 hours total))
There are no in-person or event volunteering requirements for this internship, and this intern can be based remotely anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities
This internship provides wider perspectives in integrated marketing communications. The following responsibilities may be flexed depending on the interests and skills of the intern, as well as departmental needs:
Content Creation & Social Media Management (60%)
- Create content, such as short form web content, digital articles, print magazine articles, infographics and email content
- Contribute to the day-to-day management of the National MS Society’s social media presence — including engagement, community management
- Support social media content creation, curation and scheduling
- Assist with project management for content creation, such as sourcing images and updating our project management system and content repository
- Complete projects as needed to support the Society’s Brand & Communications, Digital Experience & Analytics, and Constituent Experience teams.
- Examples may include researching media lists, search engine optimization (SEO) keyword research, supporting user research activities or gathering data to support marketing campaigns.
- Assist with data entry, document management and other administrative tasks.
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations for the marketing team.
- Help organize and maintain marketing files and records.
- Review interview transcripts for accuracy
- Understand the development and execution of paid, earned, owned and shared media tactics used in an integrated marketing communications strategy.
- Develop skills in research, copywriting, media relations, content strategy and more.
- Gain insights into the inner workings of nonprofit marketing and communications.
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree as a sophomore, junior or senior or any year in graduate school.
- Open to all majors, with a preference for marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, advertising or related fields.
- Proficiency in AP Style
- Strong writing skills
- Not required but bonus points for: Experience using Sprout Social, graphic design software, and/or video production software
- Not required but bonus points for: Spanish language fluency
- Ability to work 10-15 hours per week during standard working hours
- Access to reliable internet
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
