Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department.
Manage budget and expenditures
and forecasting
Direct facility operations including facility layout, utilities, infrastructure and general facility and asset maintenance.
Initiate corrective action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities and identify and record any problems relating to operations, process, and quality system.
Review and recommend capital purchases as necessary.
Review and approve items for inclusion in the Capital Expenditure Program.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Oversee the cross-functional activities to support the team (Project Management, HR, Finance, Facility, Administration, PR and market sensing)
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure goals and objectives are being delivered on time
Manage relationships with internal/external stakeholders in business units and other research centers to align strategic directions
Assist in establishing operational process and procedure to provide excellent and strong operational support to research efforts
Plan and coordinate all installations and maintenance efforts for rig and facility.
Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
Supervise all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors
Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
Take personal responsibility for, and demonstrate leadership in, HSE. Play a leading role in safety meetings and the safety program
Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to direct reports, and manage their efforts so as to maximize their contribution to operational effectiveness and performance
Direct enactment of the drilling programs and manage resources being applied to the drilling activities at site to achieve safe, efficient, and effective operations. Conduct timely reviews of the drilling or testing program
Ensure that the rig is operated in accordance within the design parameters and in conformance with NOV requirements. Be present at the rig floor or relevant area of the rig to direct all critical activities
Take responsibility for planned maintenance, certification, record-keeping, and reporting
Maintain all required records and documentation and produce accurate and timely reports on all aspects of rig operations and personnel matters
Develop rig move plans and manage rig moves, taking personal responsibility for safely rigging-down & rigging-up of the drilling rig,
Establish a culture of continuous improvement in operations and demonstrate results in this regard. Work with site personnel and other site contractors to develop improved practices which will positively impact on performance
Ensure that drilling operations are conducted in accordance with policies and practices of NOV and relevant national authorities
Liaise with stakeholders who are involved in operations so as to achieve cohesion in concurrent/simultaneous operations and cross-company teamwork & effectiveness
Working closely with R&D leadership and project teams, the individual will ensure successful execution of key initiatives through tactical capabilities in applying R&D process excellence, strong program and partner management to improve efficiency, visibility and maintain alignment across the organization
Ensure business challenges are met with solutions that deliver maximum value
Drive productivity and efficiency through optimization and streamlining of processes to drive standardization, quality and accountability
Implement new strategies, including adoption of tools and methodologies to enable a structured framework of R&D Operations
Maintain administrative responsibility, business-wide training and onboarding, communications, analytics, operations and standard operating processes
Skills & Experience Required
Ability to work, manage and drive initiatives in a cross-functional, semi siloed environment
Proven analytical and strong organizational skills with excellent interpersonal, communication skills
Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years’ experience
BSc/BA in engineering, business administration or relevant field
5 years of experience in strategic planning, R&D or Operations & Rig activities
Good analytical/critical thinking
Relevant professional qualification will be considered
