What You'll Do
The Chief Product Officer (CPO) will lead the development and execution of the organization's product management strategy and functions, ensuring that our go-to-market product(s) and digital solutions align with NPT's strategic plan, mission, and vision. This role will oversee the full product lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, launch, and post-launch activities. Additionally, the CPO will be responsible for product architecture, customer experience strategy and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance customer engagement and product performance. The role requires a deep understanding of user behaviors, market trends, and analytics to inform product decisions.
The ideal candidate will bring experience from wealth management, software and financial technology, or the non-profit sector, for example, with a strong background in driving product innovation within resource-conscious environments. The CPO will collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer and cross-functional teams to define product requirements, user experiences, and enhancements that support the organization's mission. They will also prioritize and manage the product roadmap to align with organizational needs and available resources.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Strategy & Leadership : Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that supports NPT's mission, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, stakeholder needs, and industry best practices.
Product Lifecycle & Customer Experience Management : Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, including ideation, design, development, testing, launch, and post-launch support, ensuring a strong focus on user experience, engagement, and adoption.
Technology Efficiency : With technology leadership, define and implement the product architecture to ensure efficiency. Lead the customer experience strategy to optimize usability, accessibility, and engagement.
Data & Analytics-Driven Insights : Utilize data analytics to assess customer behaviors, product performance, and market trends. Leverage these insights to drive enhancements, optimize pricing strategies, and refine the product roadmap.
Roadmap Prioritization & Execution : Develop and manage a product roadmap that aligns with strategic priorities, balancing innovation, operational feasibility, and resource constraints.
Innovation & Market Positioning : Stay abreast of industry-leading practices and ensure that products incorporate innovative components. Evaluate emerging technologies and competitive positioning to ensure NPT maintains industry leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with technology, growth, operations, program, and communications / marketing teams to define product requirements, enhance user experiences, and drive adoption.
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Communication : Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products meet user needs and support broader organizational objectives. Present data-driven insights and product advancements to leadership and key stakeholders.
Market & Industry Analysis : Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in wealth management, fintech, and non-profit sectors to inform product decisions. Assess profitability of the various customer segments and offerings and drive our pricing strategy that supports NPT's objectives.
Performance Measurement & KPIs : Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product effectiveness and user satisfaction, iterating based on data-driven insights. Continuously monitor product adoption rates, retention metrics, and customer feedback to refine strategies.
What You Bring :
- 15 years of experience in product management, product strategy, or product digital technology leadership, ideally in wealth management or financial services, wealth tech, or fintech industries.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field preferred; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Deep expertise in understanding the needs of financial services clients, their vendor management practices, and how they view innovation.
- Strong background in analytics, customer insights, product management, customer experience design, and technology-driven innovation.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing full product lifecycles and balancing competing priorities in a resource-conscious environment.
- Expertise in data-driven decision-making, customer segmentation, and performance measurement.
- Highest-level communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
