The General Manager has P&L responsibility for the assigned branch operations and management of branch personnel. Oversees the complete day to day operation of a branch and ensures the branch is working to optimize safety and quality measures. Works with state regional team to plan, develop and achieve business objectives to ensure growth is achieved, resources and assets are managed, and profit expectations are delivered. This position will be held responsible for team leadership, staff training and development, customer satisfaction and retention, service delivery, operational efficiency and new business development.

  • Manages P&L to ensure revenue and profit targets are obtained
  • Responsible for attaining productivity and service targets for routes and repairs
  • Responsible for efficient purchasing and inventory management, guided by NPP best practice
  • Oversees AR collections and AP/Expense approval with assistance from the NPP Branch Services
  • Maintain a positive work environment that motivates and engages employees while driving customer satisfaction--be a Champion of Culture!
  • Ensure customer expectations and satisfaction are maintained; customer issues and complaints are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
  • Responsible to recruit, hire, train and manage branch staff per established practices, processes, and company policies with assistance from the NPP Branch Services Team
  • Coach, mentor, develop and performance-manage the branch team
  • Partner with Branch Services Teams (HR, Finance, IT, etc.)
  • Identifies local issues and recommends and implements solutions to resolve them.
  • Communicate and enforce NPP policies and procedures at the branch
  • Manage the branch fleet and facilities, with focus on safety, organization, and cleanliness
  • Ensure employees are properly trained to perform their job duties safely and effectively
  • Report to NPP management on metrics and goals
  • Promote a safe work environment through overseeing safety committees, training, and verifying all safety concerns are addressed
  • Ensure compliance with all municipal and government regulations and company operations, safety, and quality standards
  • Participate in special projects regionally and/or nationally
  • Local travel required via company vehicle to vendor or customer locations may be required
  • Semi-annual travel will be required for GM offsite training
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education, Licensure and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Home services work related experience preferred.
  • 3 years of home services industry experience is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience with route management home service business preferred.
  • (external candidate) Experience managing a multi-million dollar P&L is STRONGLY preferred.
  • (internal candidate) Some experience managing a multi-million dollar P&L or divisional gross margin is preferred.
  • 5 years in people management is preferred

  • Customer service experience for field services
  • Strong personal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to problem solve issues with practical solutions
  • Build rapport and trust with customers and employees
  • Ability to use information systems to conduct business, includes MS Office, enterprise systems (ERP), route management
  • Valid driver’s license is required

Environmental Conditions:

General Office Environment: Noise level in office environment is generally quiet.

Outdoor Service Environment: Position will be exposed to various work conditions, at a variety of client settings. Indoor conditions may have dust, heat, cold, noise, etc. Outdoor conditions may include exposure to the outdoor elements, seasonal weather, damp and/or dusty locations, freezing conditions, and hot conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Requirements:

If performing office duties: Employee is required to sit, stand, hear, and use hands to operate all office equipment. Employee must view computer monitors for long periods of time. Vision requirements are close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee occasionally will be required to lift, generally no more than 25 pounds.

At client locations: While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, kneel, reach with hands and arms, crouch, crawl, twist, push/pull, lift/carry on a regular basis up to 15 lbs. throughout the day, lift/carry occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. The ability to swim as this position may work near swimming pools.

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
