Job Summary
As a Generator Service Technician with National Power, LLC, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing generator sets and other electrical equipment. Under the general direction of the CISVC Service Manager, you will troubleshoot and repair complex issues related to generators, automatic transfer switches, and diesel or gaseous engine components.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and repair generator sets and other electrical equipment.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair complex issues related to generators, automatic transfer switches, and diesel or gaseous engine components.
  3. Perform load bank testing on generators to ensure units are in proper operating conditions and meet applicable code requirements.
  4. Assist other technicians with large multi-person jobs or troubleshooting complicated issues.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma required; Associate degree in an electrical/mechanical related field preferred.
  • Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred.
  • US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician's Mate, or Generator and/or UPS field service technician preferred.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to give verbal/written reports of job status, repair recommendations, equipment/supplies needed.
  • Ability to account for time spent on jobs and travel.
  • Good computer skills and comfort with Microsoft software, including Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and Adobe (PDFs).
  • Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy objects up to 75lbs and work in various weather conditions.
  • Good problem-solving skills during emergency situations or situations with limited resources.
