Overview:

Today, National Ramp is in search of a passionate and enthusiastic Manager of Planning and Procurement that will bring their expertise to our team and help us grow to become the #1 Ramp Company in the World.

The Manager of Planning and Procurement at National Ramp will oversee the planning and scheduling of production activities to ensure that materials, labor, and equipment are used effectively. Their expertise in forecasting, inventory management, and workflow optimization helps minimize production costs while maximizing output and quality. They will also manage a budget of $15-$20 million, overseeing all procurement activities to ensure materials and services meet the company’s standards of cost, quality, and delivery. This role involves direct responsibility for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships, as well as coordinating with internal teams to support product development and inventory management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning, purchasing, and materials control within a manufacturing environment, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency in ERP systems. This position is pivotal in maintaining efficient operational workflows and contributing to the company’s strategic planning and procurement goals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning:
  • Develop and implement detailed production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize manufacturing efficiency and costs.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Liaise with the sales, marketing, and product development departments to accurately forecast future production needs and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Implement and manage production planning software and systems to enhance visibility and control over the production process.
  • Oversee the inventory management process, including the monitoring of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to minimize overstock and outages.
Procurement:
  • Oversee an expenditure base of $15-$20 million per year for materials and/or services
  • Source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the organization’s needs for direct and indirect materials and services.
  • Products and services are to be secured at cost, quality, and delivery competitive levels consistent with company goals and performance standards.
  • Timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned consistent with ERP software requirements or as appropriately concluded with a Planner.
  • Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools
  • Arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required
  • Maintain close coordination with plant, product development and facilities management to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
  • Secure and analyze actions, negotiate price and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
  • Interview and confer with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management.
  • Coordinate the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with ERP requirements or as arranged with requisitions.
  • Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
  • Visit suppliers' facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems.
  • Management of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process
  • Maintain procurement analytics to drive procurement strategies

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  •  5 – 7 Years’ of progressively responsible for planning, purchasing, and materials control experience in manufacturing and sub-contracted work environments
  • Some product knowledge and familiarity as well as experience in a manufacturing shop preferred.
  • Formal training in lean manufacturing, project management, and production software tools 
  • Metal procurement experience a Plus
  • CPIM or Equivalent Certification a Plus
  • Epicor ERP System Experience a Plus

Location: Valley Cottage, NY (On-Site)
Salary: The salary range for this position, based in Valley Cottage, NY, is $125,000 to $150,000 per year. The final salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
