Position Objective: Ensures content of proposals and policy renewals are complete and accurate. Utilizes system software consistent with established standards, managing requisite data, including rates and carrier information. Underwrite individual locations based on Program guidelines and premium objectives. Assist with the placement of business with our various carriers considering capacity, property type, and other Program objectives.
Essential Functions
- Issue underwriting approvals for Sales & Service
- Use resources (Google Earth, county website, realtor websites, etc.) to review and confirm property data
- Respond to general underwriting questions from internal and external clients
- Prepare correspondence and/or underwriting reports with results of all audits
- Communicate with internal clients, external clients, regulatory agencies, brokers/underwriters to provide audit results, provide feedback and assist with questions
- Process cancellation notices
- Upload and document approvals and notices
- Increase values, assign policies and overrides, as needed
- Mass transition of locations in the Platform, as needed
- Assist with other underwriting tasks, as needed
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- P&C license required. Underwriting experience preferred
- Up to 3 years P&C/Underwriting experience preferred
- Computer literate with command of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new and proprietary computer program/systems is a must
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to move from project to project easily
