ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is a private, not-for-profit organization established in 1952 to provide a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate medical education (GME) in the United States. The NRMP is not an application processing service; rather, it provides an impartial venue for matching applicants and programs preferences for each other consistently. The NRMP conducts the annual Main Residency Match encompassing almost 50,000 applicants for more than 40,000 positions in core residencies as well as Matches for fellowship positions in more than 70 subspecialties through its Specialties Matching Service.

POSITION SUMMARY

The position reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for processing invoices, cutting checks, reconciling vendor statements, and monthly AP accrual.

Security and Privacy responsibilities are identified in the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which applies to all users, roles, and NRMP resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job)

  • Receive, code, and investigate accounts payable invoices and process approved vendor checks
  • Manage approval process and ensure approvals are received in a timely manner
  • Prepare and process invoices and reimbursements in Nexonia, accurately and timely
  • Establish new vendors in accordance with company policies and maintain vendor database
  • Review and verify Vendor Statements as needed
  • Corresponds with vendors and responds to payment status inquiries.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
  • Manage deposits made on required purchase orders
  • Maintain 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up to date W9 s for tax reporting
  • Prepare and process weekly vendor payments
  • Management and reconciliation of multiple credit card accounts
  • Maintain filing system for all accounting records

External :

  • Daily interaction with external vendors
  • Periodic interaction with external auditors.
  • Internal :

  • Daily interaction with, Director of Finance, Finance staff, NRMP President & CEO, and other NRMP staff
  • QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree or combination of equivalent years of experience and training
  • Minimum of three (3) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reports
  • Experience working with accounting software systems. Experience with Intacct and Nexonia is a plus
  • Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to exercise sound and logical judgment in various situations.
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker, and demonstrated flexibility.

    This position is a remote position that is primarily sedentary with infrequent overnight travel and may require some bending and lifting.   • NRMP pays 90% of employee medical coverage for full-time staff.

  • Upon date of eligibility, NRMP provides an 8% non-elective employer contribution into the 403(b) plan and employees are eligible for a 2% employer match if they contribute at least 2% into the 403(b) plan.

  • NRMP offers staff a minimum of three work weeks of annual leave and two work weeks of sick leave each year that is accrued per pay period.
