Job Description
Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI’s visual elements like charts, graphs, maps, and gauges to effectively communicate insights.
Connect to diverse data sources (databases, APIs, flat files) and extract relevant data, performing data cleaning, transformation, and manipulation using data query languages like SQL to prepare it for analysis.
Design logical data structures within Power BI to facilitate efficient analysis and reporting, including creating relationships between tables and optimizing data for visualization.
Maintain a corporate repository of metric definitions, ensuring clarity and consistency.
Work jointly with department heads and analysts to define KPIs and reports for company-wide performance measurement.
Performing ad-hoc analysis to answer complex business questions.
Stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices in data analysis and visualization to maintain a competitive edge.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
3-5 years of experience in the Transportation and Logistics industry preferred.
MS Azure Synapse Expertise, including experience with Azure Synapse SQL pool, Spark pools, and data lake storage.
Proficient in designing and developing BI reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, DAX, and other data languages. Solid technical aptitude in SQL / Python / DAX
Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools and PowerBI functionalities, including data modeling are report development features.
Experience working in a Microsoft SharePoint environment.
Exceptional analytical skills, capable of efficiently collecting, organizing, and analyzing data with accuracy. Proficient in applying insights from data analysis to inform operational strategies and decisions.
Proven interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with a positive attitude towards change management.
Ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying informed on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.
Physical Demands :
Extended Sitting : Primarily desk-based with prolonged computer use.
Computer Use : Frequent operation of computers and office equipment, requiring manual dexterity.
Eye Strain and Repetitive Motion : Risk from continuous screen use and repetitive tasks like typing.
Office Navigation : Light walking and standing for meetings and tasks within the office.
Light Lifting : Occasional handling of objects up to 20 pounds
