Summary of Position :
The Personal Investment and Retirement Consulting (PIRC) provides investment and retirement education to participants in NRECA's defined benefit and defined contribution plans. We are seeking a new team member from the financial services industry to provide personalized verbal and written investment and retirement education to plan participants (active and retired / separated). That education is provided through 1) one-on-one conversations over phone or in person; 2) conducting seminars virtually (3%) or in person (97%); 3) providing written asset allocation and retirement plans specific to the individual. The selected candidate should anticipate visiting up to 48 states over a career on the team, primarily to rural and suburban communities in those states.
Position requires 60% travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides confidential, personalized verbal and written investment and retirement education and financial planning consulting to plan participants (active and retired / separated).
- Conducts on-site standardized presentations for employees of member organizations for groups of 10 - 100 people. Presentations may be from 1 hour to 1.5 days to include other speakers.
- Responds to requests generated through other planners, seminars and member contact services over the phone and by email.
- Assesses the need for and refers appropriate participants to PIRC services for written asset allocation and retirement plans. Review such plans with participants upon completion.
- Build and maintains an extensive knowledge base on a broad range of financial planning and pension topics, including : NRECA's policies and products, the latest legal and business developments in the areas of retirement / investment planning, education funding, personal portfolio management, securities, life insurance / annuities, tax laws and estate planning issues; as well as Social Security and Medicare.
