CFC has a need for an Accountant II - General Ledger to join our Accounting team. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work at our headquarters office in Sterling, VA, as well as optional remote workdays. The Accountant II - General Ledger is responsible for moderately complex transactional accounting activities relating to the maintenance of complete and accurate ledgers and sub-ledgers. This person performs intermediate level accounting work requiring the use of professional concepts.
As an Accountant II - General Ledger, you will :
- Reconcile accounts, prepare and post journal entries, maintain complete and accurate ledgers and subledgers and prepares and manages various accounting schedules.
- Process and reconcile cash management and cash control transactions.
- Review coding of accounts receivable and payable items.
- Assist with fixed asset transactions and processing.
- Prepare amortization schedules.
- Assist staff with questions related to invoices or expense reports.
- Run a variety of accounting reports for internal and external customers.
- Process the activity for the member debt and membership transactions in the subledgers.
- Prepare debt packages, including roll forward and prepayment schedules.
- Prepare and record check deposits.
- Assist with processing intercompany transactions.
- Provide and effectively communicate with auditors, consultants and others.
- Identify control gaps, communicate to management and implement changes to enhance controls and mitigate risk.
