Job Description
We are seeking dedicated teachers to bring the benefits of chess education to diverse communities. As a chess teacher with the NSCF, you will engage with student groups, nurturing a positive and inclusive learning environment. If you have a passion for working with children and a love for chess, you could be an excellent fit for our team.
Pay range: $65-80 per class; flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and deliver fun, engaging chess lessons.
· Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student groups and skill levels.
· Ensure the safety and supervision of students at all times.
· Maintain open communication with NSCF staff.
· Provide or obtain a background check as required.
· Arrive at least 10 minutes early for each class.
· Stay after class until all children are picked up.
Qualifications/Requirements
· REQUIRED: At least 5 years of chess playing experience.
Ideal candidates will have some tournament experience and a USCF rating of 1400 .
· Experience working with children, even if unrelated to chess (teacher, camp counsellor, etc.).
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to inspire and motivate students.
· Must have reliable transportation.
