This position will work closely with management and part time employees in a hands-on position that will be exposed to company-wide collaboration.
Assistant Ice Arena Manager
Operational duties include but not limited to: staffing, scheduling, tournament operations, event management, general building maintenance, monitoring refrigeration plant, ice maintenance, customer satisfaction, quality control, and team building.
Sport Management degree, knowledge or experience in ice arena management, basic computer skills are required. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Title: Ice Arena Operations Assistant Manager
Assignment: National Sports Center Super Rink
Reports to: Manager of Facility Operations and Manager of Customer Relations
Supervises: Part time arena staff
Competencies: The ability to engage and successfully assist with most aspects of the arena operations department
Boundaries: Authority to manage staff and customers within the department and is expected to use his/her discretion to benefit the MASC, NSCF, and Super Rink
Duties Include: Arena Operations
- Understanding and manage several aspects of arena operations
- Assist with arena budget and report budget items to Arena Managers
- Assist in staff management: hire, schedule, and train part-time staff
- Assist with implementing all arena operations policies and procedures
- Assist all event management – knowledge of each event and needs
- Customer service to all ice buyers
- Ability to communicate with customers and staff
- Ability to create new business
- Ability to complete purchase orders for all arena operations
- Ability to speak to large groups
- Ability to use all current computer programs and software
Maintenance and Mechanical
- Ability to work with the Maintenance Manager for major/minor mechanical projects and preventative maintenance
- Ability to work with outside mechanical companies
- Create task list for part time staff
- Assist and maintain and review all logs for equipment, fire, OSHA, and air quality,
Relationships
- Create relationships with all ice customers, industry leaders, vendors, and other arena staff
Additional Duties As Assigned
Other duties may be assigned by the Arena ManagersEducation/Experience: Minimum of two years ice arena operations experience
Classification: Full-Time (45-50 hours per week) salary position, exempt from FLSA overtime
Primarily nights and weekends with some opportunity for day time shifts
