Network Infrastructure Expert
The OSP Construction Estimator is a key role within our organization, responsible for delivering accurate and timely proposals and estimates for fiber construction projects. This includes the installation of underground duct bank systems via trenching and boring, cable installation, and preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on provided scope of work, drawings, and specifications. Review and understand all bid documents and material requirements to assess constructability and product material needs. Identify and understand differences in subcontractor quotations to ensure accurate cost assessments.
Proposal Development: Develop comprehensive proposals based on scope of work and bid specifications. Work with distribution channels to maintain best available pricing and lead times for materials and equipment. Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFI) with team, customers, or end users to clarify project details.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Project Managers and Area Directors to develop multidisciplinary estimates. Collaborate with project management team to create and optimize project schedules. Provide innovative ideas and improvements to enhance project outcomes. Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and end users to ensure alignment and clarity on project expectations.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the fiber construction industry.
- 7 years of experience in Outside Plant Construction.
Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs, and engineering.
- Strong understanding of market conditions and cost structures in the construction industry.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to take accountability for delivering on commitments and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of analyzing and interpreting complex bid documents and specifications.
