The mission of the National Tropical Botanical Garden is to enrich life by perpetuating tropical
plants, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.



The National Tropical Botanical Garden is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to
join our team as a full-time Facilities Technician at our South Shore Gardens (Allerton and
McBryde).

This position assists with the upkeep, maintenance and repair of the complex. Knowledge of
irrigation systems and repair is essential. Candidates must also be proficient in heavy equipment
operation. Some assignments also require a variety of abilities that could include: carpentry,
electrical, plumbing, welding, and locksmith skills.

Requires the demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently with minimum supervision.
Experience using a variety of equipment, including hand held power tools and heavy equipment.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record; CDL endorsement highly
desired. Must have, or be able to obtain, an OSHA 10 certification and CPR/first aid certification
within required time frame after hire. Position will be required to work in a variety of conditions,
including outdoors with variable weather conditions. The successful candidate must be physically
capable of performing the sometimes physically demanding essential functions of the position.

Schedule: Days

Pay Range: $24.27- $33.10
