Claims Technical Specialist- Mechanical
The Technical Specialist reports to the Claims Technical Manager and is responsible for handling moderate complexity claims arising from medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle breakdowns submitted under commercial vehicle service contracts and warranties. Handling these claims involves regular phone and written communication with customers and vehicle repair facilities, review of repair estimates, photos and maintenance records, and regular negotiation with repair facilities to reach agreed upon parts and labor pricing for repairs.
Requirements:
· 1-3 years working as a diesel engine mechanic; and/or
· 1-3 years handling commercial vehicle claims for a property and casualty insurance company, and/or warranty company; and/or
· 1-3 years handling commercial auto dealer or commercial auto repair facility.
· 1-3 years of experience directly interacting with customers and / or repair facility personnel, answering questions and resolving disputes.
· Sound verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work well with others, and support the mutual success of a team.
· Secondary education (Associates degree or higher, or trade/technical school) desirable.
· Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
Core Responsibilities:
· Handling claims from first report to payment, including contacting customer to explain claims process and update them on claims status, reviewing repair facility diagnostic reports and ECM downloads, reviewing repair estimates and evaluating the validity of recommended repairs and repair times, and negotiating with repair facilities to achieve an agreed repair price.
· Completing work according to established claim handling guidelines, and delivering excellent customer service to customers, including resolving customer complaints
· Other responsibilities as required by the business
Salary Range: $50,000 - $68,000 depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits program available. Yearly bonus program available.

Working Hours: 40 hours, however hours are flexible Monday-Friday 8am to 8pm. Ideal Work HoursAvailable: 8am to 4:30pm, 8:30am to 5:00pm, 9am to 5:30pm, 10am to 6:30pm or 11:30am to 8pm.
