What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director of Retention & Educational Effectiveness position at National University College?
The Regional Director of Retention & Educational Effectiveness is responsible to provide the leadership necessary in areas of retention and academics so the Dean of Academic affairs are able to fulfill the mission, objectives, plans and goals of the college/school in all education and training areas. Focusing on planning, organizing, directing, and training, coordinating, evaluating all facets of the school’s Academic Department. Measuring, Assessing, and Evaluating all the phases of the student life cycle and in all modalities at Florida Technical College and the DAVE School. Works directly with the Vice President of Academic Affairs in the leadership, direction, management and supervision of all academic matters, including educational assessment and activities that influence the student experience and retention. Provides the leadership and support to institutional and regional academic leadership encouraging teaching excellence, assuring proper assessment of student learning and compliance with internal and external regulatory matters.
Minimum requirements:
- Master’s degree in institutional research, institutional effectiveness, assessment, or education from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in an educational setting and/or online education.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison with the corporate academic affairs and program/course development office for the development, assessment, and maintenance of new program courses, revision, and creation of course plans for various modalities (online)
- Tracks attrition and other data in order to provides support to the campuses to drive campuses to meet or exceed monthly and annual retention goals of the college, campuses, and programs.
- Utilizes the data collected to support the campuses to drive continuous improvement in the areas of retention, certification, completion and graduate rates by program and campus.
- Assist the VP of Academic Affairs with the development and maintenance of the master schedule for all programs and courses
- Produces quarterly and annual assessment reports to share with the SLT and campus leadership.
- Provides appropriate orientation and training calendar for new hires and academic leadership and staff.
- Assist in the coordination with the VP of Academic Affairs and schedules the needs assessment, planning of annual in-service calendar for faculty and staff with the regional academic office and the center for teaching and learning.
- Conducts student satisfaction surveys on all instructors at the end of each grading period. Summarizes and shares results with leadership in effort to reinforce and/or improve instructional quality.
- Monitors, facilitates, and implements timely curriculum revisions via coordination with and approval of VP Academic Affairs.
- Reviews curriculum and educational resources / eBook changes with advisory boards and industry professionals.
- Ensures the academic leadership supervising faculty and ensuring they are following the prescribed curriculum and that course objectives are being met through assessment of audits, course observations, and leadership feedback.
- Continuously drives improvement in area of certification with the goal 90% sit, 80% pass, 70% certification for programs with certification and facilitates and provides workshops to reinforce certification test preparation for students.
- Directs and works closely with the NUC FTC Vice of Academic Affairs in the development of assessment of student learning outcomes, including the collection, analysis, and reporting of assessment data through surveys of students, faculty, staff, externship sites, employers and other stakeholders.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- Supervises the Instructional Designer & Faculty Developer and Assessment Coordinator.
- Staff Meeting with Academic Leadership and Faculty members.
- Support Performance Appraisals Process.
- People Development (Coaching / Mentoring)
