Associate Medical Laboratory Technologist (Dept of Pathology)

Preparation of cytological specimens, including gynaecological and non-gynaecological samples for the diagnosis of the diseases.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following :
Receive and accession both non-gynae and gynae specimens.
Processing gynae specimens (both liquid-based Cytology and conventional smears) and subsequently mounting and labeling the prepared slides.
Preparation of non-gynae specimens, including processing, staining, mounting and labeling of prepared samples.
Learn to screen gynaecological and non-gynaecological specimens under the supervision of the senior cytotech.
Comply with the senior staff with regards to work procedures and duties.
Willing to undergo training and development as and when necessary.
Perform all procedures in accordance with the laboratory protocols and SOPs.
Learn FNA techniques and with experience be able to make an on-site diagnosis.
Comply with the safe disposal of the Gynae and Non-Gynae samples
Assist in recording and filing of QA sheets.
Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements : Qualification :
Diploma in Life Sciences / Biomedical Science or equivalent preferred.
Experience :
Relevant experience in a Cytology laboratory preferred
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate and is willing to learn the laboratory computer system
Good team player who is also able to work independently
