POSITION DESCRIPTION
As part of the curriculum at NUNM, Standardized Patients provide in-class patient simulation and may choose to undergo physical examinations to support student learning. Standardized Patients also participate in exams that students take to measure their educational progress (OSCES).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Standardized Patients have the opportunity to model for invasive or non-invasive exams.
INVASIVE EXAM MODELS ($45.00 an hour)
- Proctology Model: Proctology models undergo rectal examinations. Students will perform digital rectal exams (with prostate palpation in models who have prostates) and anoscopic exams. Models can be any gender.
Models must follow guidelines regarding confidentiality of the exam process, exam cases, student and physician information, and give constructive criticism and training in a positive manner. Case training is provided before every OSCE.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Proctology Models: Experience being a medical model before, with being a proctology model preferred.
