Position Summary
The Department of Arts & Humanities in the School of Arts, Letters, and Sciences at the National University invite applications for part-time faculty in Public Speaking, English, Composition, and Literature.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, the following: teaching in their field, a commitment to serving the University’s diverse adult student body, and related scholarship and/or research. This position primarily works closely with the Faculty Course Lead and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.
This position is a hybrid (in-person and onsite) role which requires meeting onsite at Vandenberg Education Center twice/monthly for 2.5 hours each session.

Essential Job Duties:
- Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
- Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
- Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
- Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in one of the general education fields sought or in a related field required.
- At least 1 year of higher education teaching experience preferred.
- Experience with both online and onsite teaching preferred.
