The National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) / NVSBC Education Foundation Government Contracting (GovCon) Consultant provides technical assistance to service-disabled and veteran owned small business professionals that serve and aim to serve the government as federal contractors.
The National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to join our team as a part-time GovCon Consultant. This role will partner closely with the Consultant Manager to achieve strategic goals and respond to the increasing demand for our organization's programs and services.

NVSBC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veteran-owned small businesses in the federal contracting ecosystem to succeed by providing training, engagement and advocacy at all stages of a companys lifecycle.
Role Overview
The Government Contracting Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' success in the government contracting landscape.
This position requires a deep understanding of the government contracting landscape and the ability to deliver tailored guidance, solutions, and referrals to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance to service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses navigating the complexities of government contracting.
Conduct one-on-one consultations, assessing clients' capabilities and matching them with relevant opportunities.
Leverage NVSBC's Body of Knowledge to provide training, resources, and referrals on procurement processes, market intelligence, and regulatory compliance.
Establish and nurture relationships with government agencies, prime contractors, and industry stakeholders.
Support administrative efforts, including client database management, reporting, and program improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in government contracting or a related field.
Knowledge of federal government procurement processes and the small business community.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Transparent, high-integrity leadership, solution-oriented, and data-informed approach.
Experience with database management and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in military, non-profit, government, or private sector.
3 years of telework experience.
Military or military family experience.
