What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a self-motivated, driven technician who thrives in a team-centered environment, takes initiative, and is eager to learn and grow.
Qualifications:
- CVT or Veterinary Technician with 1 years of experience (certification a plus, but not required).
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients and team members.
- Reliable transportation and availability for rotating weekends and holidays (one weekend a month required).
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Running in-house diagnostics, placing IV catheters, and collecting samples.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners regarding pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and proper sanitation protocols.
- Restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
Skills
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:
- Proficient in dog handling techniques to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices to assist in emergency situations.
- Strong understanding of pet care requirements, including nutrition and wellness.
- Familiarity with animal physiology and anatomy to provide effective support during procedures.
- Ability to utilize veterinary terminology accurately in communication with team members.
- Experience with aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during surgeries.
- Competence in animal restraint methods for safe handling of various species.
- Proficient in performing X-ray imaging as part of diagnostic processes.
- Skills in dog training may be beneficial for working with various behavioral issues.
