Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the health and condition of pets before grooming, identifying any skin issues or abnormalities.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pet’s grooming needs and aftercare.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized.
- Handle pets safely and compassionately during grooming sessions, using appropriate techniques to minimize stress.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, particularly for larger breeds or special needs animals.
- Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and products to enhance service quality.
Experience
- Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred; experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a kennel environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A background in veterinary care or equine handling can enhance your candidacy.
- Strong knowledge of various dog breeds and their specific grooming requirements is beneficial.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and providing exceptional care.
