The opportunity:
NWCA is in search of a Campus Manager of Security & Parking that can be ready on day one to be able to jump in on multiple fronts. This job will be managing all Security and Parking Operations on Campus. They will support the Event and Campus Operations to facilitate a safe and secure environment for all guests, staff, and vendors.
Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, this position will work closely with all operations to set up standard operating procedures and implementation of best practices for security procedures, emergency management and parking systems.
The Campus Security & Parking Manager will ensure a safe and secure experience for visitors, event attendees, and staff. This position will manage security personnel and vendors, coordinate security strategies for events, monitor the facility for any safety risks, and maintain compliance with safety and security regulations. Will be coordinating parking lot logistics, managing parking staff and working closely with event managers to ensure proper space allocation and traffic flow during high-traffic events.
This is a multifaceted job with a broad spectrum of opportunities for professional development. The brand-new Stockyards Event Center is a multipurpose space with two arenas, ample parking and views of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver skyline. An outdoor plaza connects it to 20 acres of hardscaped yards for outdoor concerts, festivals, large equipment trade shows, sporting events, drive-in movies and more. The center is just two miles from downtown Denver and adjacent to the RiNo Art District, with easy access from Denver International Airport via I-70. Home to CSU Spur and the National Western Stock Show, the National Western Center is an emerging urban hub for food and agriculture discovery.
In 2018, the campus partners created the National Western Center Authority, a nonprofit organization responsible for operating, maintaining, programming, and promoting the National Western Center. The Authority is the primary entity responsible for ensuring the National Western Center achieves its mission. It is also responsible for developing a community investment fund benefiting the residents of the Globeville, Elyria and Swansea neighborhoods in which the campus is located. The Authority's work is well underway in preparation for buildings being completed and the larger campus opening to the public. The Authority is guided by a 13-member board of directors. The Authority is doing business as (DBA) the National Western Center.

What will you do:
Campus Parking Operations
- Manage day-to-day parking operations, including overseeing parking lots, garages, and event needs. Working closely with campus security, event security, event managers, and other departments to ensure seamless event operations
- Coordinate parking logistics for events of varying sizes, adjusting parking plans based on expected attendance, partners for campus coordination
- Oversight of parking pay systems, pricing, ticketing, towing and campus parking procedures
- Monitor parking lot capacity and ensure safe and efficient traffic flow on Campus
- Assist with the development and implementation of traffic flow, road closures and parking-related policies and procedures
- Ensure that parking and traffic plans for large concerts are coordinated and are communicated to Denver Police
- Working closely with campus security, event security, event managers, and other departments to ensure seamless event operations
- Assist the Campus Safety & Sustainability Manager on protocols and emergency procedures for events and daily operations including Emergency Response Plans
- Assist with incidents and emergencies, including medical situations, threats, and evacuations
- Maintain detailed security logs and reports, including incident reports and daily activity records
- Create, Manage & Maintain security systems, including surveillance cameras, and alarms
- Oversight of Event Key and Badge requests
- Manage and Maintain Lost & Found Program
- Build and maintain relationships in coordination with Campus Sustainability & Safety Manager with local police, fire departments, Federal Branches of law enforcement and other emergency agencies
- 5 years of relevant industry experience in Security and Parking Management
- Bachelor's degree preferred; or proven relevant experience in the field
- Knowledge and understanding of Security & Parking software (CCTV); industry best practices and trends in operations management
- Excellent communication and time management skills; attention to detail and ability to analyze and process improve strongly preferred
- Proven ability to onboard & commission parking garages and lots
