What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance Staff position at National Winter Activity Center Inc.?
Position Purpose:
The Grounds Maintenance Staff assist in the maintenance of the facility
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Knowledge of basic Mechanical skills.
- Having the ability to work with a team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Using problem solving skills to depict best option for the situations at hand while following safety procedures.
- Awareness of ski area operations a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Trail Maintenance
- Snowmaking maintenance & testing (Training available onsite)
- Chair lift maintenance & testing (Training available onsite)
- Grounds maintenance
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to function and work effectively at high elevations, in extreme cold and other inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to push, lift or pull heavy objects including snowmobiles under plumes of snowguns.
- Ability to hike on steep terrain.
Materials Used:
- Snowmaking guns, air compressors, water pumps running high pressure air and water through hoses.
- UTV
- Basic hand tools, wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers.
- Lawn mower, weed whackers
- Electrical testing equipment
- Lift operation controls
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. of material routinely unassisted and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to reach in all directions, including overhead and flexible in range of motion.
- Must be able to perform functions required to operate all forms of routine office equipment, and communication systems.
