What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Store Manager position at Nationally Recognized Retail Chain?
There’s a good chance you’ve heard of us, and maybe even shopped with us! We are a nationally recognized retail chain looking to hire a General Manager to oversee the store operations, staff, and budgets.
The General Manager is responsible for the facility, personnel, equipment, and daily operations of the retail location. This role will facilitate smooth retail operations in compliance with best practices.
This is a full-time, salaried position ($60k annually) working day shift hours.
A good candidate will:
- Lead thoughtfully, make decisions, and develop their employees. Leadership experience that includes employee training and development is a big plus for this position.
- Help guide their team in finding good solutions. We encourage and empower our managers to lead, teach, and develop their team to find the best answers.
- Handle the day-to-day store operations. We need a general manager who takes ownership, makes good decisions to benefit the business, and takes care of their team.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time, 5 days a week, Saturdays are required
- $60k annual salary, paid weekly

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of a retail store and delivery service
- Conduct administrative oversight including making schedules, approving PTO, checking hours, progressive discipline, bank deposits, etc.
- Onboard and train new employees
- Supervise, train, coach, mentor, and develop employees on best practices and procedures
- Direct personnel to the completion of projects and tasks
- Professional development of staff to ensure competency in expected duties
- Provide and model exceptional customer service
- Oversee merchandising and product displays
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, supportive, and rewarding work environment

Qualifications:
- Have a valid driver’s license with clean driving history
- Experience in retail management or similar role (ex: general manager, assistant manager, shift supervisor, department team lead, etc)
- Experience managing a team of people (training, developing, counseling, etc)
- In-person customer service experience
- Awareness of standard accepted retail practices
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal, written, and telephonic communication skills
- Comfortable with fluid circumstances and thinking on your feet
- Able to work in a warehouse adjacent environment (hot/cold, dirty, dusty, etc)
