What Does a Mechanic Team Member Do?
- Maintains a clean and safe work area, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition
- Follows instructions and guidelines provided by direct supervisor and adheres to established protocols and processes
- Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks and inspections as directed to avoid equipment issues
- Makes basic equipment repairs in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
- Conducts minor repairs of rental equipment, including small gas engines
- Maintains neat and orderly records of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Safely maintains and cares for tools and equipment, conducting daily inspections
- Monitors and updates warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed
- Provides training to employees in warehouse equipment repair as required
- Utilizes working knowledge of small gas engines and basic electrical systems to address equipment needs
- Additional duties as assigned
What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Mechanic Team Member?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in maintenance
- Working knowledge of small gas engines and basic electrical systems
- Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, brakes, welding, and general maintenance may be required
- Proficiency in operating a pallet jack, forklift, and rolling truck stock
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to temperature variations and inclement weather
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and stoop as necessary
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and responsible practices
- Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing 50-75 lbs consistently or 75 lbs with assistance
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the business
- Good communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, dispatchers, and team members effectively
- Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
- Strong interpersonal skills with the willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
