Overview :
Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join our experienced and energetic team of regional providers as an inpatient pediatric specialist at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. Hospitalists working at Genesis are employees of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Genesis Hospital with a staff of 3,700 employees, physicians and volunteers, has earned a third consecutive 4-Star rating for Overall Hospital Quality from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Twenty-seven percent of the nation’s hospitals are rated 4-Stars; only 6% have a 5-Star rating. The pediatric unit of Genesis includes an 6-bed inpatient and observation pediatric unit, 8-bed Special Care Nursery and a 25-bed Mother-child well baby unit.
Responsibilities :
Responsibilities of the Pediatric Hospitalist include providing general pediatric consultations as well as inpatient pediatric care, Emergency Department consultations for admission or transfer and attending high-risk deliveries and c-sections. Shifts are 24 hours in-house.
Qualifications :
Qualified candidates must be board certified / board eligible in Pediatrics, patient-centered and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in pediatric care. The position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
Job Description Summary :
Provides medical care and treatment to patients.
Essential Functions :
- Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
- Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
- Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
- Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.
