Job Location: Open to US candidates residing in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri

Job Summary:

The Member Development Manager’s role is to recruit new Members and to provide business support and expertise to existing NMG Member Companies and pursue the growth of the organizations in assigned territory by creating an environment of superior member service & assisting group Member Companies to operate profitably and efficiently.

The MDM has a defined region to recruit and retain Members. An MDM is expected to prospect New Members in territory through in-depth market research and competitive intelligence. In addition, the MDM will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with 10-30 larger accounts within territory through consulting, supporting and servicing assigned Members through in person and digital communication. Developing relationships with regional vendor reps is important as it paves way to both servicing Members and in recruiting efforts.

**This position is eligible for additional compensation opportunities through bonuses and/or commissions, rewarding your contributions and impact on member success.**

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruit new Appliance, Electronics, Furniture, Bedding and Rent-to-Own retail companies for NMG membership.
  • Demonstrate to prospective members the following:
  • The advantages in programs and services they will gain by joining NMG.
  • How they will grow their retail volume and grow profits as a member of NMG.
  • Provide constructive feedback about prospective members current operations and how NMG can help them improve sales and profitability.
  • Articulate the value proposition and ROI of membership with NMG.
  • Create market and competitive intelligence of assigned region to identify prospective members.
  • Regular communications and member touchpoints through travel, video and phone within the assigned territory.
  • Increase the number of NMG services and offerings within assigned accounts, proactively assisting members to effectively use services..
  • Provide ROI of NMG’s services through regular discussions and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Assist Independent Retailers achieve higher levels of success and profitability by sharing group programs and services.
  • Help members grow store sales, lower operating costs through group services, and increase bottom line profits.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing.
  • Proven Business Development experience.
  • Experience in the fields of appliances, electronics, furniture, or bedding is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and follow through skills.
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to drive outcomes and manage client expectations.
  • Adapts well to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Reacts to adjustments promptly and efficiently.
  • Exhibit organizational and communication skills to effectively manage competing priorities and project objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to make solid business decisions.
  • Candidate will be required to complete and pass background screening upon offer of employment.

Work Environment:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
