We are looking to hire a Specialist, Software Engineer to join the Technology Integration Platforms BSA team. This role will serve as a key liaison between internal technology teams, business units, and external partners, supporting the seamless onboarding of partners into Nationwide's digital ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API development, event streams, and data integration. They will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering high-quality solutions that enable smooth integrations between external partners and Nationwide's systems. Additionally, they will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by partners and internal teams, ensuring a seamless experience.

Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C , Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

- Ability to focus on multiple enterprise initiatives at once. We are a Enterprise team that provides consultation and support to all business units (NF, P&C, Pet, etc.)
Technical skills:
- Full stack development experience
- Java / Springboot and Angular development
- Microservices / REST APIs
- Cloud Native applications in AWS or Azure
- Docker container architecture managed by Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipeline enablement
- Experience with Apigee is a plus
