Key Responsibilities :

  • Program Planning and Execution : Develop and implement plans to monitor execution, align with strategic goals, and prioritize projects to maximize resource efficiency. Facilitate multi-year roadmap discussions with program leaders.
  • Portfolio Management : Establish a portfolio management process for project visibility and funding alignment, overseeing interdependencies for timely delivery and effective roadmap development.
  • Strategy Implementation and Communication : Translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans, create materials to communicate key information to leadership, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Budget and Risk Management : Develop and manage project budgets, identify and resolve gaps or conflicts, and promote proactive solutions.
  • Monitoring and Reporting : Collaborate with actuarial leaders to report project status and incorporate stakeholder feedback, ensuring effective communication among leadership and sponsors.
  • Vendor and Resource Management : Evaluate vendor deliverables, liaise between project teams and external partners, and manage resource commitments across the organization, recommending prioritization and reallocation.
  • Team Accountability and Standards Development : Foster accountability for project communications and reporting, mentor team members, and implement consistent program / project management methodologies across business units.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex programs and integrate multiple projects.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for engaging with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Capacity to influence change and drive initiatives.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in program management.
  • Financial services experience required, with insurance experience preferred.
  • Project Management Certification strongly preferred; industry designations such as CPCU are a plus.
  • This position will be filled at the G2 internal pay band. This position will be working a hybrid schedule with 2 days in an office location preferably Columbus, OH, Scottsdale, AZ or Des Moines, IA.

    As a Consultant, you'll manage projects to drive business objectives. You will identify and develop business process mapping and recommend and implement policies and procedures for new and existing business processes. You'll support the business administration functions for your assigned area.

    Key Responsibilities :

    Coordinates and prioritizes all aspects of projects, including : planning, communication, execution and completion.

    Develops and controls timelines, including regularly re-assessing risks, throughout project life. Revises project plans on an ongoing basis to maintain alignment with other projects and the business strategy.

    Coordinates business / systems unit resources to log issues, designs processes and implements solutions. Maintains awareness of customer and systems requirements and conforms to those requirements.

    Responsible for internal and external resource management, budgeting and cost containment.

    Provides mentorship and feedback to project team members.

    Recommends and implements policies and procedures for new business processes and manages these processes upon completion of the project. Communicates process changes to impacted business units.

    May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

    Reporting Relationships : Reports to Manager / Director or Officer. This is an individual contributor position.

    Typical Skills and Experiences :

    Education : Undergraduate studies in business, mathematics or related field.

    License / Certification / Designation : Project Management Certification preferred.

    Experience : Six years of work experience in project management. Business process mapping experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Strong knowledge of project management concepts and techniques. Working knowledge of business terminology, systems and data processing policies, practices and procedures. Knowledge of business-related systems concepts and requirements preferred. Strong relationship building skills. Outstanding project management skills. Strong negotiation and problem solving skills. Proven decision making skills for problem identification and selection of alternatives. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to prepare technical reports and formal presentations.

    Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

    Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by business unit Officer and Human Resources Officer.

    Working Conditions : Normal office environment; may be required to travel and work flexible hours.
