As a Manager, you'll lead a creative and passionate team and we'll count on you to develop the team's talent and resources and keep up on the latest product management trends-in and beyond the insurance industry- and apply that knowledge for continuous improvement.
You will also work with product and journey stakeholders to deliver against the defined business outcomes that focus on delivering customer value. You will be responsible for developing the vision for how solutions can be most effectively delivered in alignment with the Annual Operating plan(s) and multi-year strategic plan(s). You will need to have an understanding of the products supported and the underlying technologies that need to come together in order to deliver on internal business outcomes and, more importantly, customer related outcomes.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
Accountable for leading a team of Analysts that are primarily developing solutions using business configurable software applications.
Leads the vision and strategy for how solutions will be delivered for supported products and journeys. Collects and analyzes feedback from stakeholders to apply to product and journey team development.
Partners with Business Capability Manager and Owner to sequence and plan out delivery of the work.
Models continuous learning for team by staying current with technology and industry trends; applying outside-in best practices to executing work.
Manages effectiveness of the product and journey delivery process. Helps to manage interdependencies and coordination across delivery teams.
Defines, monitors and analyzes metrics that inform the success of the solution delivery process. Leverages standard set of KPIs, data and analytics ensure the product and journey outcomes are being achieved.
Manages the staffing strategy to support Business Capability Analysts to ensure successful delivery of product / journey solutions.
Oversees associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, day-to-day management, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions for direct and possibly indirect reports.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships : Reports to Director / AVP.
Typical Skills and Experiences :
Education : Bachelors degree in business, IT or related field with advanced degree preferred.
Experience : Typically, 7 or more years in program or project delivery, including building and leading high performing teams preferred. Product, operations, business or software engineering background is preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Proven knowledge of end-to-end agile practices and product management practices. Strong entrepreneurial mindset. Data visualization through effective story-telling. Proven ability to lead associates focused on agile delivery of solutions and experiences. Demonstrated ability to retain and acquire talent and assess and develop the skills required for successful execution in a product management organization. Strategic and tactical problem solver with the ability to tackle key resource and capacity issues, while setting the vision for a successful product management practice. Insurance / financial services industry knowledge. Expertise in skills assessments, talent and acquisition practices needed. Command of both verbal and written communication and presentation abilities. Able to present and interact with all levels of management.
