Safety Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. The Safety Specialist will play a key role in ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting driver safety and training programs. The ideal candidate has experience in the trucking or transportation industry and a passion for safety, and able to conduct orientation. Have experience in recruiting and maintaining records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies.
• Conduct orientation.
• Develop and deliver driver training and orientation programs.
• Maintain and analyze safety performance metrics and records.
• Assist with Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and ELD monitoring.
• Collaborate with drivers and operations staff to resolve safety issues.
• Coordinate drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT guidelines.
• Track DOT physicals and set up renewals.
• Renew permits and licensing of trucks and trailers.
• Lead recruiter for our fleet.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of safety experience in the trucking or transportation industry.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and fleet management systems (e.g., Samsara,).
• Ability to promote a positive culture to our prospective new hires.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $64,429.00 per year
