Job Overview
NACA is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and skilled science teacher (Chemistry and Biology) to join our dedicated science department. Duties
- Design and implement curriculum using the Understand by Design format. * * Ability to incorporate Native American culturally relevant lessons into curriculum (or the desire to learn to do so) is strongly preferred
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning styles and abilities of students. * Utilize technology and digital tools to enhance the learning experience and student engagement.
- Create lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, participation, and collaboration.
- Assess student progress regularly through assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects, providing timely feedback.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Contribute to the school community and support extracurricular activities related to mathematics.
Experience
- Bachelors in secondary education and New Mexico Teacher’s certification for specific area aligned with Tier III Requirements (i.e. Level I, Level II, Level III) or the willingness to attain one through an alternative licensure program.
- Proven experience in classroom management and instructional design is essential.
- Familiarity with scientific research methodologies and laboratory practices is a plus.
- Previous experience working in high school settings or with adolescent learners is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively conveying information to students and collaborating with staff.
