Position Title: Out of School Time (OST) Coordinator
School Overview:
The Native American Community Academy (NACA) is a free, public charter school within
Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) that integrates culture, wellness, language, community, and
college preparation into education. Rooted in Native traditions and rigorous academics, we foster
excellence in students, dedication in teachers, and commitment from families. Serving
Kindergarten through 12th grade, NACA welcomes students from over 60 tribes and diverse

Position Summary:
OST Coordinator will assist OST Director to create and deliver enriched educational experiences
that build on community-defined needs and strengths for Native American students in New
Mexico. OST Coordinator is responsible for helping improve academic engagement (attitudes)
and behaviors among participating students through in school support, tutoring, and out of school
time programming that complements an academically excellent and culturally relevant
education. OST Coordinator will gain exposure to and experience in the education profession.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for our growing elementary age
students during before and after-school hours. (Before: Mon-Fri 7:30am-9:00am, After:
Mon-Thurs 4:00pm-5:30pm, Fri 12:30-4:30pm)
- Engage students in the NACA Core Values curriculum to ensure overall health and
wellness and a Language and Personal Wellness curriculum that promotes healthy
lifestyles and positive self-identity rooted in their language and culture.
- Mentor and supervise students during before and after school hours.
- Facilitates daily lessons and activities which include personal wellness, such as fitness,
nutrition, and personal care.
- Communicates with families on daily interactions with students and ensure that students
are in attendance and participating in all scheduled OST activities.
- Ensures students are on-task and supervised at all times.
- Maintains, collects, prepares, and arranges classroom materials & equipment as needed.- Monitors student activities in classrooms, school grounds, hallways, lunchrooms,
playground, field trips, bus loading areas, etc. and supports non-instructional classroom
routines such as monitoring snacks, restrooms, etc.
- Interacts effectively with students, staff, parents, and the overall school community.
- Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics for educators and upholds and enforces
rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state,
and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years child care experience or working with youth students.
- Successfully pass a fingerprint background check.
- Demonstrate an ability to create learning activities for students in Elementary, Middle, &
High School.
- Demonstrate an ability to build positive family communication systems.
- Understanding and an ability to create reports that reflect student experiences
