What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician II position at Native American Connections?
MISSION:
Our mission, grounded in traditional Native American culture, is to reduce health disparities by delivering high-quality, comprehensive integrated healthcare and providing stable housing throughout the communities we serve.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in carrying out the maintenance processes of the property, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency, and cosmetic maintenance. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the make-ready process in a manner consistent with the property’s operational objectives under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all general maintenance, repair and general upkeep of NAC facilities and equipment.
Troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action.
Control monthly budget on assigned properties.
Prepare purchase requisitions, purchase materials at low cost, and obtain bids when necessary.
Maintain inventory on all tools and supplies.
Prepare turn-key on assigned apartments or rooms within time frame set by Director – usually 72 hours.
Complete assigned maintenance requests within the time frame set by Director – usually 48 hours.
Complete electronic work orders in a timely manner.
Stay current on all applicable building codes and safety standards.
Will be on-call on a rotation basis and respond to on-call emergencies.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or GED required, AA preferred
HVAC Certified and 2 years’ experience in AC repair preferred
Three (3) years of experience in appliance repair
At least three (3) years of experience in apartment and/or general maintenance
Must have a valid state driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation.
SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
Demonstrated advanced skills in electrical, plumbing, drywall and carpentry repair and building maintenance and repairs
Ability to function independently with minimal oversight
Be able to effectively communicate and secure bids for repairs.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors.
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, and customer service skills.
Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational and time management skills.
Possesses and maintains a valid Arizona driver’s license, liability insurance and a dependable vehicle
MS Office proficiency
Ability to interact with individuals with physical and mental health challenges.
Experience in working with the Native American population preferred
Able to perform the physical functions listed below
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods.
Able to climb (ladders, etc.).
Able to lift 60 lbs., or more.
Able to reach above shoulder height.
Able to crawl on any type of surface.
Operate in an outdoor or maintenance shop environment
