The Retail Supervisor supports the General Manager (GM) in executing the day-to-day retail operations. The Retail Supervisor assumes responsibility in the absence and at the directive of the GM, serving as a resource for employees, customers, and patients to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the GM in executing all recreational and medical cannabis sales operations and managing personnel within their retail location(s)
- Supports the GM in managing daily store opening and closing procedures as necessary
- Supports the GM in driving the sales goals and objectives throughout daily operations
- Provides escalated guidance to customers as needed including resolving customer complaints
- Supports management as needed with workforce and performance management including employee onboarding, training, guidance, mentoring, and managing team schedules, timesheet entries, and time-off requests
- Supports with ensuring that processes and procedures are compliant to internal policies and standards as well as local and state regulations
- Performs daily cash verifications and recordings
- Supports the GM with intake of deliveries, transfers, and inventory management
- Greets and checks in customers and patients
- Engages with patients and customers to understand their wellness needs and recommends products
- Educates customers and patients on the uses of cannabis products to meet their desired effects
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the store including organizing products and inventory, sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Performs sales transactions including cash handling, using POS system, and compliantly packaging and labeling products
- Enters or modifies customer/patient information in POS System
- Supports the GM with managing team schedules to ensure proper coverage
- Supports the GM with ordering supplies
- Supports the GM with store audits
- Secures and organizes all patient files in accordance with compliance rules
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 months of customer service and/or sales experience
- 6 months experience utilizing METRC
- Experience with retail POS systems
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Must hold or obtain a valid Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) Employee Badge
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong critical and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of customer service and/or sales experience
- Experience with cannabis POS system
- Cannabis knowledge or cannabis industry experience
- Proficiency using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office programs including Gmail, Calendar Docs, Sheets, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of local and state laws related to cannabis sales including Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) regulations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, stretch, walk, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive motions, and carry boxes or items
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- In person at store location based on schedule
