Job description
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the dispensary by overseeing and directing day‐to‐day operations, including overseeing retail staff. They possess outstanding guest service skills, a problem‐solving attitude, strong desire for self‐improvement, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and management abilities, and solid administrative/clerical and time management skills. The Dispensary Operations Manager is also responsible for upholding the mission and values of the company, and ensuring that his/her team always delivers excellent guest service.
The main responsibilities of the Dispensary Operations Manager include interacting with, educating, and advising store guests face‐to‐face and by phone; record‐keeping; monitoring inventory and cash management; interacting with local service providers; and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility inside and out. This role is also responsible for scheduling, assigning, and overseeing the day‐to‐day duties of the retail staff.
The Dispensary Operations Manager reports to the Dispensary General Manager.
Primary responsibilities:
Ensure that store operations are performed in accordance with company values and compliance standards.
Maintain the highest level of compliance at all times.
Ensure store operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
Ensure the organization’s processes remain legally compliant
Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices
Formulate strategic and operational objectives
Develop and implement strategies to increase the quality of guest experience.
Evaluate dispensary processes with Senior Management to ensure maximum efficiency.
Communicates with home office, marketing and supply chain departments to ensure adequate supply of all materials.
Purchase ancillary materials, plan inventory, and oversee warehouse efficiency.
Perform quality controls, monitor store and position Key Performance Indicators.
Approaches difficult conversations with employees and uses diplomacy in human resources issues; requests guidance from General Manager and Senior Management when handling delicate employee relations situations.
Oversees inventory and cash management, daily and weekly, including regular bank deposits.
Maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical conduct; absolute reliability and integrity.
Consistently model professionalism; serve as a role model to retail staff during periods of high stress and ambiguity
Ensure the use of internal communication tools to promote transparent and sufficient intercompany communication.
Demonstrates competency with computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems, Word, Excel, office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems, etc).
Accurately use Point of Sale, Inventory Tracking, Seed-To-Sale, Google Sheets and other retail software systems.
Responsible for training retail staff on proper cash handling and inventory management.
Ensures guest satisfaction through feedback tools.
Display outstanding phone, email, and in‐person guest service skills/etiquette.
Demonstrate proactivity, flexibility, adaptability, and multi‐tasking.
Effectively plan and prioritize with focus and attention to detail.
Reports all incidents and complaints to the executive team.
Works with bookkeeping to ensure precise data flow.
Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility.Monitoring overall store cleanliness including restrooms, office, and sales floor.
Have a high attention to detail and regularly reviews facility needs and communicates them to the appropriate parties.

Additional duties as assigned.
Responsible for working in admissions, fulfillment and inventory when assigned.
Cross training is a requirement.
Store opening and closing responsibilities.
Job Requirements and Preferences
4 years’ experience in a fast‐paced client‐service intensive industry – hospitality and retail background preferred.
Previous cannabis experience required.
Thorough understanding of how to achieve positive results in a highly compliant environment.
Arithmetic necessary for basic inventory and cash management.
Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in a positive and didactic manner.
Skilled in accurate cash management and inventory control.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
High School diploma or equivalent
2 years post‐secondary education in a related field preferred
Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
